Putting makes a huge impact on the outcome of your score. Being able to drain those 3 footers is the key to scoring low. Based on physics and human engineering, Yonex developed the Triprinciple putter based on science.
The sight lines are provided to give confidence and visual guidelines to make a smooth stroke to make more 3 foot putts. The putter is made of aluminum with deep center of gravity with increased MOI. The larger sweet spot is twice the size of a standard blade putter. The 3 lines on the topline shows how wide the sweet spot is so you can make more putts with a relaxed, confident putting stroke.
3 distinct features:
- Design of sightlines on flange gives you a guide for your stroke
Assuming that the face angle is square to the intended target line on a 3 foot putt, and as long as the path of the stroke is within 5.61degrees of the target line, in theory, the ball should roll in to the cup.
The inner sightlines on the flange is designed to flare out 5.61deg both ways which shows you the margin of error that you can have in a putting stroke of a 3 foot putt.
By visually knowing that the stroke does not have to be perfectly straight, it gives the golfer more confidence and make more par saving putts (or birdies)
- Sweet spot x 2
By having a high MOI with deep center of gravity, the Triprinciple putter has twice the size of sweet spot. The size of the sweet spot is indicated by the 3 lines on the top line of the putter.
Bigger sweet spot means that there is more margin for error without losing distance or twisting of the head that may roll the ball off target.
- Longer length and flatter lie
Standard putters are designed at about 71deg lie angle. Many golfers use putters which are too upright for them.
Many golfers get too tight with a shorter length putter.
By having a longer and a flatter putter, golfers can relax at address and initiate a smooth, natural putting stroke.
Even if you choke down on this putter, it will also give you a counter balance effect for more stability!
